Drone Spraying on the Sunshine Coast, South East Queensland
Application by Drone provides agricultural drone spraying, weed spraying and property mapping across the Sunshine Coast. The steep Blackall Range hinterland, high rainfall and diverse weed profile of this region make aerial application a practical choice for landholders managing pasture weeds, woody weeds and difficult-access country.
Drone Spraying for Sunshine Coast Properties
The Sunshine Coast encompasses a dramatic range of terrain — from the coastal plains around Maroochydore and Caloundra to the steep, timbered ridgelines of the Blackall Range behind Maleny, Montville and Mapleton. The hinterland country is largely volcanic, with steep slopes, deep gullies and high-rainfall subtropical bushland that supports rapid weed growth. The region also includes significant horticultural land — macadamia orchards, avocado farms and small crops — alongside grazing properties and rural lifestyle blocks.
Drone spraying is well suited to the Sunshine Coast because it can handle the steep hinterland country, target weed outbreaks in pasture and orchard understories, and treat creek lines and gullies without ground access.
Common Weed and Land-Management Challenges
Sunshine Coast landholders commonly deal with giant rat's tail grass and other weedy grasses in pasture, lantana and woody weeds in the hinterland, weed pressure along creek lines and gullies, and orchard understory weeds in macadamia and avocado plantations. The region's high rainfall means weed growth is rapid and constant, requiring timely and targeted treatment.
